Uruguay

Uruguay is South America's smallest wine-producing country, but it has carved out a unique identity through its embrace of Tannat. Brought by Basque immigrants in the nineteenth century, Tannat has become Uruguay's signature grape, producing bold, structured, and surprisingly elegant wines.

The maritime climate of Canelones and Maldonado, cooled by Atlantic breezes, creates excellent conditions for both reds and whites. Albariño has also found a happy home here, making Uruguay a destination for lovers of food-friendly, Atlantic-influenced wines.
