Peru

Peru is best known for pisco, its grape brandy, but the country also produces a small but growing amount of table wine. Vineyards are concentrated in the Ica and Lima regions along the southern coast, where desert conditions and irrigation from the Andes create a unique growing environment.

Tannat, Malbec, and Torrontés are among the varieties being explored by Peruvian winemakers. While still overshadowed by pisco, Peruvian wine is gaining attention for its high-altitude vineyards and the creative energy of a young industry.
