Overview

Waterford is among Ireland's drier and warmer counties, with lowland annual rainfall often around 975-1,100 mm and a Cfb oceanic climate that keeps winters mild. Soils are dominated by Devonian sandstone till, brown earths, and brown podzolics on free-draining slopes, with pockets of limestone influence near the coast.
