Tebourba

Overview

Tebourba lies in a wide agricultural basin west of Tunis, centred on the ancient town that gives the Coteaux de Tebourba AOC its name. The region's rolling hills and valley floor have been cultivated since antiquity, and the appellation today is recognised for red and rosé wines sold under names such as Coteaux de Tebourba, Coteaux de Schouigu, Domaine Lansarine, and Tebourba Village.

Its inland position gives a warm Mediterranean climate with enough winter rainfall to sustain vines through the dry summer. Alluvial and clay-limestone soils, often studded with stones, provide drainage and minerality. Winemakers blend heat-tolerant Mediterranean varieties to produce ripe, savoury reds and refreshing rosés.
