Overview
Pomerania is Poland's northernmost wine region, stretching along the Baltic coast near Gdańsk, Sopot, and the Kashubian Lake District. The maritime climate brings cool summers, mild winters by Polish standards, and high humidity that rewards disease-resistant PIWI grape varieties.
Glacial sands, gravel, and clays drain freely and give the wines a saline, mineral character. Many growers here are young innovators turning Solaris and Rondo into pet-nats, orange wines, and crisp rosés, while coastal orchards and berry patches also supply local fruit wines.
