Overview
The Podgorica subregion is the largest wine zone in Montenegro, centered on the capital and the broad Cemovsko Polje plain to the southeast. This sun-drenched corridor holds the flagship Plantaže 13. Jul estate, whose 2,300 contiguous hectares make it one of Europe's largest single vineyards and the benchmark for modern Montenegrin winemaking.
A Mediterranean climate moderated by nearby Lake Skadar brings hot, dry summers and mild winters, while alluvial deposits and fluvioglacial gravel force vines to dig deep. The result is a portfolio led by powerful Vranac, crisp Krstač, and internationally styled Chardonnay and Cabernet Sauvignon.
