Nevşehir Vineyards
Central Anatolia, at the core of the Cappadocia volcanic region

Nevşehir

Volcanic highlands where altitude and ancient vines produce taut, mineral-driven wines.

Overview

Nevşehir is the viticultural centre of Cappadocia, with vineyards perched above 1,000 metres on a plateau of eroded volcanic rock. The continental, semi-arid climate gives cold winters, dry hot summers and large day-night temperature variation that locks in acidity and aroma.

Volcanic tuff and ash soils force vines to dig deep, yielding small berries with intense flavour and a marked mineral signature. Emir is the regional white flagship, while Kalecik Karası, Pinot Noir and Sauvignon Blanc are also cultivated by quality-focused producers.

Key Varietals

  • EmirA crisp, high-acid white native to Nevşehir, showing green apple, citrus and volcanic minerality.
  • Kalecik KarasıA red variety that performs well at altitude, offering floral red-fruit aromas and finesse.
  • Pinot NoirPlanted in cooler, higher sites, it produces light, bright reds with earthy undertones.
  • Sauvignon BlancAdds herbal, citrus lift and refreshing acidity to Nevşehir whites.
