Leyda

Overview

Leyda is a sub-zone of the San Antonio Valley, located just 12 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean. The area was developed specifically for viticulture in the late 1990s, when irrigation canals were built to channel water from the Maipo River. The cool maritime climate is among Chile's most challenging and rewarding.

The combination of sea breezes, morning fog, and granitic soils produces wines of remarkable freshness and minerality. Leyda has become a benchmark for Chilean Sauvignon Blanc, Pinot Noir, and cool-climate Chardonnay, with producers such as Viña Leyda, Matetic, and Garcés Silva leading the way.
