Kairouan lies in the semi-arid heart of Tunisia, far from the moderating sea. The flat to gently rolling plain is dotted with olive groves, cereals, and irrigated vineyards.

Wines from Kairouan tend toward full-bodied, sun-ripened reds and rosés. Deep, well-drained sandy clay and gravelly alluvial soils help vines cope with the heat and low humidity. Growers rely on drought-tolerant Mediterranean varieties that can produce balanced fruit under demanding conditions.
