Overview

Stretching from the towering Apennine Mountains to the Adriatic Sea, Abruzzo is one of Italy's most dramatically beautiful and historically agricultural regions. Abruzzo is best known for two grape varieties that dominate production: Montepulciano d'Abruzzo, a dark, rich red wine with plum and spice character, and Trebbiano d'Abruzzo, a fresh white that can surprise with unexpected depth and texture from old vines and thoughtful producers.

In recent decades, a new generation of winemakers has elevated Abruzzo's reputation, proving that the region can produce wines of remarkable elegance and complexity.
