About the Winery
A nine hectare family-owned vineyard established in 2010 by Marcus and Gail Burns at Spreyton, Tasmania. The couple lived in Emilia-Romagna, Italy in the 1980s and were inspired by artisan food and wine culture. Originally named Emilia Wines, they had to rebrand to La Villa in 2018 due to EU naming agreements. Produces Chardonnay, Pinot Noir, Pinot Gris, Nebbiolo and Savagnin. Winemakers Fran Austin and Shane Holloway craft premium cool climate wines.
