About the Winery
Companhia das Lezírias is Portugal's largest agricultural and forestry estate, founded in 1836 and spanning approximately 18,000 hectares in the Tejo region near Lisbon. The estate includes 130 hectares of vineyards and 70 hectares of olive groves within the Herdade de Catapereiro, producing wines under the Tyto Alba and 1836 brands. Wine tourism experiences include guided tours, barrel tastings, wine and olive oil tastings, equestrian activities, and accommodation in wooden bungalows within the Special Protection Zone of the Tejo Estuary.
