About the Winery
Herdade de Mouchao traces its origins to the late 19th century when John Reynolds acquired the 900-hectare estate in Sousel, Alentejo. The family began producing wine and in 1901 built the iconic winery with thick white adobe walls, and introduced the first Alicante Bouschet vines from France, now the estate's flagship variety. The winery produces red, white, and dessert wines, and offers guided tours of the winery and vineyards with tastings.
