About the Winery

Quinta da Fonte Souto is the Symington family's first property outside the Douro, located in the Portalegre sub-region of Alto Alentejo near the Sao Mamede mountain range. The 207-hectare property includes 43 hectares of vineyards planted at altitudes of 490 to 550 meters, with principal varieties including Aragones, Alfrocheiro, Trincadeira, Alicante Bouschet, Syrah, and Cabernet Sauvignon. The estate's name derives from its substantial chestnut grove, and the wines showcase the freshness and elegance provided by the property's altitude.
