About the Winery
Torre do Frade is located in Portalegre, in the Alto Alentejo sub-region, on lands acquired by the Albino family in 1839. The estate's history dates back to the 14th century when it housed monastic orders for 500 years, and wine was produced based on old Roman recipes. Since 1999, the family has planted vineyards across 40 hectares, producing wines from Aragones, Alicante Bouschet, Trincadeira, and Syrah, with their first vintage in 2004 winning gold medals at international competitions.
