About the Winery

Herdade da Rocha is a small wine producer located in Crato, Portalegre, on the slopes of the Serra de Sao Mamede in the Alto Alentejo sub-region. Founded in 2006 by Mario Rocha and his family, the estate covers 52 hectares of vineyards and olive groves on granite soils, producing fresher wines with mineral characteristics. The winery offers guided tours and tastings, and features a boutique lodge, restaurant, and the Peace Retreat inaugurated by Nobel Prize winner Jose Ramos Horta.
