About the Winery

Jose Maria da Fonseca is Portugal's oldest table wine producer, established in 1834 in Azeitao, in the Setubal Peninsula wine region. The winery manages 650 hectares of vineyards across five distinct regions and produces a diverse range of red, white, rose, sparkling, dessert, and fortified wines, including the renowned Periquita brand and Moscatel de Setubal. Visitors can tour the historic 19th-century manor house, ancient wine cellars including Adega da Mata and Adega dos Teares Velhos, and enjoy tastings paired with regional products.
