About the Winery
Viúva Gomes was founded in 1808 in Almoçageme, Colares, a wine-growing region between the Sintra hills and the Atlantic Ocean defined in 1908. The Baeta family, now in its fourth and fifth generations, manages six small vineyards in organic production on sandy, limestone and Sintra-influenced soils, focusing on Ramisco and Malvasia de Colares. The winery offers private visits and tastings Monday to Saturday by appointment, including DOC Colares and village wines.
