Casa Américo
About the Winery
Casa Américo is a family estate in the Dão region near Serra da Estrela, established by Américo Seabra and now continued by his children who restored the 18th-century property and built a modern winery. The estate encompasses 100 hectares of vineyards planted between 500 and 600 meters altitude on poor granite terrain in the Serra da Estrela subregion, one of Dão's most important terroirs, with some vines over 100 years old and planted with noble varieties including Touriga Nacional and Encruzado. The wines are known for their elegance, freshness, and ability to reflect the high-altitude granite terroir, with the family maintaining a clear intention to let the vineyard speak through minimal intervention in the cellar.
