Adega Cooperativa de Pinhel
About the Winery
Adega Cooperativa de Pinhel was founded in 1947 and is one of the oldest and most emblematic cooperatives in Beira Interior, born from the collective effort of 33 grape growers with roots dating back to the 16th century when King Manuel I granted privileges to wines of Pinhel. Today the cooperative unites approximately 2,300 members, producing wines that are characterized by freshness, structure, and authenticity reflecting the high-altitude terroir of the Pinhel subregion. The cooperative's wines have gained recognition in national competitions, with their Solares de Pinhel Grande Reserva being named a grand winner at the 2025 Escolha da Imprensa Beira Interior wine competition.
