Quinta do Vale do Ruivo
Souropires, Pinhel
About the Winery
Quinta do Vale do Ruivo is located in Souropires, Pinhel, in the Beira Interior region, producing wines from old vines aged 60 to over 100 years at 650 meters altitude on granitic sandy soils. The estate works with indigenous varieties including Rufete, Baga, and Folha Figueira, with winemaking led by oenologist José Madeira Afonso, creating authentic terroir-driven wines that express the high-altitude character of the Pinhel subregion. The Vinhas Velhas Tinto is a field blend from these old vines, producing ruby-colored wines with pure aromas of forest berries and a distinctive rustic character that reflects the Beira Interior terroir.
