About the Winery
Quinta da Caldeirinha is a pioneering family project in organic viticulture located in the historic village of Almofala, Figueira de Castelo Rodrigo, within the Douro International Natural Park in the Beira Interior region. The estate produces mountain wines from organically grown grapes on schist and sandstone soils at an average altitude of 600 meters within the DOP Castelo Rodrigo, working with varieties including Aragonês and other indigenous grapes. The wines are characterized as fresh, elegant, and balanced with lively acidity and delicate structure, vinified with prolonged skin contact and aged in French oak, reflecting the estate's strong commitment to environmental sustainability and minimal intervention.
