Beira Interior plateau

About the Winery

Casa Agrícola Cova da Raposa was founded in 2008 in Pala, Pinhel, in the Beira Interior region, by João Saraiva Gonçalves, known as João Pombo, transitioning from grape growing to producing wines under their own Pombo Bravo brand. The estate encompasses 9.4 hectares of organically certified vineyards at around 700 meters altitude, working with indigenous varieties including Síria for whites and Touriga Nacional for reds, alongside Fernão Pires, Tinta Roriz, Syrah, and Jaen. Winemaking is overseen by oenologist Patrícia Santos using a minimalist approach that emphasizes the excellence of the grapes, with the Síria varietal white wine having already gained recognition for its freshness and elegance, and the estate is part of the Beira Interior Wine Route with tastings available by arrangement.
