Casa de Saima
About the Winery
Casa de Saima is a family-owned winery situated in the heart of the Bairrada demarcated region near Sangalhos, Anadia, producing quality wines for over half a century across three generations, with Graça Miranda at the helm. The estate works with indigenous varieties including Baga, Maria Gomes, and Bical from vineyards ranging from 15 to over 70 years old planted on calcareous clay soils, using biodynamic practices and spontaneous fermentation in open lagares with minimal intervention. The portfolio includes Baga-based reds aged in oak, traditional-method sparkling wines, and award-winning white wines, with the winery offering visits and tastings that showcase their sustainable approach and the classic Bairrada terroir.
