About the Winery

Cockburn's Lodge is the largest wooden Port cellar in the historic quarter of Vila Nova de Gaia, holding one of the greatest collections of oak barrels and wooden vats of any Port cellar. Founded in 1815, Cockburn's is a real working lodge where visitors can see the in-house team of coopers repairing seasoned oak barrels, one of the last in the Port trade. The lodge offers guided tours, tastings of Cockburn's Port wines, petiscos on the terrace, and exclusive tastings in the John Smithes Room.
