Burmester Port
Largo Ponte Luiz I, 4400-028 Vila Nova de Gaia, Porto, Portugal
About the Winery
Burmester was founded in 1750 by Henry Burmester and John Nash in London before moving to Vila Nova de Gaia to export Port wine to Europe, making it one of the oldest Port houses still in operation. The cellars are located in a prime position overlooking the Douro River by the Dom Luiz I Bridge, offering guided tours and tastings of their Port and DOC Douro wines. In 2025 the parent company rebranded as Kopka Group, connecting Burmester with Kopke, Calem, and other historic Port brands.
