About the Winery

Niepoort is a family-owned Port house founded in 1842 by Franciscus Marius Niepoort, now in its sixth generation with Dirk Niepoort at the helm, operating from historic lodges in Vila Nova de Gaia and Quinta de Nápoles in the Douro. The house is renowned for its Ports including Vintage, Colheita, and Garrafeira styles, as well as acclaimed dry Douro wines such as Redoma, Batuta, and Charme, and projects in Dão, Bairrada, and Vinho Verde. Niepoort is part of the Douro Boys group, and visits are available at both the Gaia cellars and the Douro estate by appointment.
