About the Winery

Quinta do Vale Meão is a historic estate in the Douro Superior near Vila Nova de Foz Côa, founded in 1877 by the legendary Dona Antonia Adelaide Ferreira on 300 hectares of largely undeveloped land. The estate produces acclaimed Douro DOC wines including Quinta do Vale Meão, Meandro, and Monte Meão, as well as Port wines, and has received multiple 100-point scores from Wine Enthusiast. Visitors can enjoy guided tours and tastings by prior appointment, with access by car, train to Pocinho station, or helicopter by arrangement.
