About the Winery

Quinta Nova de Nossa Senhora do Carmo is a historic wine estate in the Cima Corgo subregion of the Douro Valley, once owned by the Portuguese royal family with cellars dating back to 1764. The estate pioneered planting monovarietals across 41 separately identified microterroirs from 1979 onward, and produces Port, red, rose, and white wines including its signature Grande Reserva. As the first wine estate in the Douro to open wine tourism facilities, it offers tours, tastings, a winery restaurant, walking trails, and accommodation.
