About the Winery

Quinta de Soalheiro is a pioneering family estate in Melgaço, in the Vinho Verde Monção e Melgaço sub-region. In 1974, João António Cerdeira planted the first dedicated Alvarinho vineyard in Melgaço, and the first Soalheiro vintage was released in 1982. Today, the third generation runs the 14-hectare organic estate, which includes the highest Alvarinho plots in Portugal near Peneda-Gerês National Park.
