About the Winery
Verde Vineyards was born out of a passion for the Earth's bounty. The picturesque Johnston vineyard overlooks Moswansicut Lake. Founded by Giacomo (Jim) Verde, a retired biology professor who started growing grapes in 1965. The winery uses traditional techniques like hand-picked grapes, open fermentation and oak barrel aging. Voted Best Winery in Rhode Island by Yelp in 2022.

Fri-Sun 11am-5pm (extended summer hours until 8pm in Jun-Aug). Tastings $4. Tours available upon request. Live music on weekends 1-4pm.
