About the Winery
Since their first vintage in 1991, Scherrer Winery creates handcrafted, full-flavored wines that express the personality of unique Sonoma County vineyards. Owner/winemaker Fred Scherrer is best known for Pinot Noir. The Scherrer family has farmed in Alexander Valley since 1899. Production is around 3,000-5,000 cases per year. The winery does not have a regular tasting room, but hosts an annual Spring Open House and tries to make appointments work.
