About the Winery
Pheasant Ridge Winery was founded in 1979 by the Cox family, making it one of the oldest wineries in Texas committed to growing Vitis vinifera grapes. Located in the Texas High Plains AVA at 3,500 feet elevation, the winery won a gold medal at the 1986 San Francisco Fair International Wine Competition, the first Texas wine to win gold in California. Bobby Cox managed the Texas A&M Research Vineyard where over 700 grape varieties were studied. The winery was sold to the Bingham Family Cellars in 2013. The winery facility, 25 acres of vinifera wine grapes, and tasting room were included. Pheasant Ridge continues the tradition of making award-winning wine from High Plains grapes. Open Friday-Sunday for tastings.

Tasting Room
Open Friday 3pm-6pm, Saturday-Sunday 1pm-6pm. Tastings are $5 for six to eight different wines, held in the barrel room. Wine by the glass and bottles available. Picnicking welcome at the winery. Estate grown and bottled wines from the Texas High Plains AVA.
