Peaks Of Otter Winery
About the Winery
Bedford County's first winery and Virginia's first all-fruit winery, nestled at the foot of the Peaks of Otter in the Blue Ridge Mountains. The Johnson family has been farming here since the 1700s. They make 25 varieties of wine, primarily fruit wines with unique offerings like Apple Truffle, Blackberry Cobbler, Blueberry Muffin, Mango Tango, and their famous Chili Dawg (made from chili peppers and apples) and Kiss the Devil (made from thirty kinds of peppers). The farm also features U-pick fruit, farm animals, apple cider donuts, and a vacation rental called Elmo's Rest.
