About the Winery

Escanaba's first winery, a small locally owned and operated winery established in 2008. Owner and vintner Leigh Schmidt makes wines from cold-climate grapes produced in Escanaba, with some grapes from their own vineyard outside Escanaba. Wine selection began with 3 wines in their first season and has grown to more than 20 wines yearly. Located in a historical building built in 1893/1884 in the historic district of old Escanaba. Features an older refurbished bar and art deco back bar, with intricately designed tin walls and ceiling dating to 1895. Open seasonally. Also produces Peacock Cider. Under new management as of 2022 (Julie Lambert).
