Four Maples Vineyard & Winery Inc.
About the Winery
Founded in 2008, Four Maples is surrounded by the Adirondack Mountains in the Champlain Valley of New York AVA, the northernmost vineyard in New York State. The winery takes its name from four magnificent century-old maple trees on the property. Owners Erwin Kalmar (born in Lausanne, Switzerland) and Norliah Asma Kalmar (from Singapore) planted their first vines in 2010. They specialize in cold-hardy varietals including Marquette and Frontenac Red for reds, and La Crescent, St-Pepin and Itasca for whites. Wine is aged in American oak barrels for a year before bottling. The estate also includes a distillery.
