About the Winery

Chanticleer Estate Wines is a boutique winery in the Yountville Appellation of Napa Valley. Founded by George and Caddy Grodahl in 2000, the winery produces three premium wines incorporating Cabernet Sauvignon and Sangiovese grapes grown on their 7-acre hillside vineyard called Morningside. The vineyard is one of the rockiest sites in Napa Valley. In 2020, the Chanticleer brand and Morningside Vineyard property were sold to Deepak Gulrajani, winemaker and owner of Nicholson Ranch Winery, who continues the tradition of producing excellent wines from the vineyard. Total production is about 1,500 cases.
