About the Winery
Established in 1976 by Gianni Zonin, whose family has been producing wines throughout Italy since 1821. Barboursville Vineyards is dedicated to growing estate-bottled wines of European heritage. Occupying the estate of James Barbour, Virginia's Governor during the War of 1812. Features the historic Ruins of the mansion Thomas Jefferson designed for Governor Barbour. Also home to the acclaimed Palladio Restaurant and the 1804 Inn and Vineyard Cottages. Winemaker Luca Paschina has served since 1990. Flagship wine is Octagon, a Bordeaux blend.

Discovery Tasting Room: Mon-Sat 10am-5pm, Sun 11am-5pm. Library 1821: Sat-Mon 11am-5pm, Wed-Thu 11am-5pm, Fri 12pm-7pm. Tasting fee $7 for current vintages. Winery tours Sat-Sun 12pm-4pm.
