About the Winery

Tenuta Santa Croce was founded by Anton Baur, who purchased the property in 1985 near Orvieto in Umbria; the oldest buildings date back to the 16th century when it served as a hermitage. The estate cultivates 4 hectares of certified organic vineyards at 500 meters above sea level, producing around 18,000 bottles annually of Rosso Orvietano DOC and Umbria IGT wines from Sangiovese, Montepulciano, and Cabernet Sauvignon grapes in an area traditionally renowned for white wines.
