About the Winery

Stefano Grilli is the founder and winemaker behind La Palazzola, a 28-hectare organic estate near Stroncone in the province of Terni, Umbria, where he left an engineering career to pursue winemaking with celebrated enologist Riccardo Cotarella. The winery is renowned for its audacious and eclectic production, specializing in Metodo Classico sparkling wines alongside still wines crafted from an extensive palette of indigenous and international varieties including Sangiovese, Pinot Nero, Chardonnay, Ciliegiolo, and Syrah using terracotta amphorae, wood barrels, and steel tanks.
