Azienda Vitivinicola Madonna del Latte is a small family-owned organic winery founded in 2000 near Orvieto by food and wine journalists Manuela Zardo and Hellmuth Zwecker. Their 5 hectares of vines flourish on volcanic soils at 450 meters altitude, producing wines including Cabernet Franc, Viognier, and rosé aged in a spectacular barrel cellar carved into ancient tuff stone, likely an Etruscan tomb.
