About the Winery

The Unterganznerhof of Josephus Mayr in Cardano, at the eastern edge of Bolzano at 285 meters above sea level, has been owned by the Mayr family since 1629 and produces Lagrein, Lagrein Kretzer, St. Magdalener, Cabernet Kampill, and excellent white wines including Chardonnay, Sauvignon, and Kerner. For many years, no herbicides or artificial fertilizers have been used, as Mayr prioritizes quality over quantity, and he also grows figs, nuts, chestnuts, and olives from which he produces South Tyrol's first and Italy's most northern olive oil.
