About the Winery
Koefelgut, also spelled Köfelgut, is a historic family estate in Castelbello (Kastelbell), Val Venosta, South Tyrol, owned by the Pohl family since 1786, with viticulture practiced since 1970 on steep hillsides at 600 meters above sea level. The dry inner-alpine climate and porous soils of the sun-drenched Sonnenberg are ideal for Pinot Blanc, Pinot Gris, Pinot Noir, Gewürztraminer, and Riesling, while since 1992 the estate has also produced noble spirits including the famous Vinschger Marillenbrand (apricot brandy) in their own distillery.
