About the Winery
Poggio al Grillo is a family-run organic winery in the hilly area of Castagneto Carducci in the Bolgheri zone, founded by cardiologist and passionate vigneron Alessandro Scalzini who planted the first 0.5 hectares of Aleatico in 2008. Today the estate cultivates 2 hectares of vineyards with Aleatico, Petit Manseng, Trebbiano, Malvasia Bianca Lunga, Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese, producing wines including the white 'Corvallo,' rosé 'Rosatico' from 100% Aleatico, and the passito 'Rezeno' from 100% Aleatico.
