About the Winery
Podere Poggio Scalette is a 40-hectare estate in Ruffoli near Greve in Chianti, acquired in 1991 by acclaimed winemaker Vittorio Fiore and his wife Adriana, now run by their sons Jurij and Alessandro. The estate's flagship 'Il Carbonaione' is made from rare 90+ year-old Sangiovese vines from the original post-WWI replanting of the Lamole clone, while other wines include Chianti Classico, the Bordeaux blend 'Capogatto,' and white wines from vineyards on terraced hillsides rich in dry stone walls.
