About the Winery
Podere Il Macchione is a small 6-hectare family estate in Caggiole near Montepulciano, run by brothers Simone and Leonardo with a biodynamic philosophy and the motto 'as long as it takes.' Located on hills with clay soils rich in fossils from an ancient seabed, the estate produces approximately 10,000 bottles annually of Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG (including Riserva), using indigenous yeasts, cement tank fermentation, and aging in 5 and 30 hectoliter oak barrels for wines of remarkable elegance and complexity.
