About the Winery

Pietroso is a small, artisanal Brunello di Montalcino estate founded in 1978 by Domenico Berni, known as 'Delfo,' and now run by his grandson Gianni Pignattai with son Andrea and wife Cecilia. The estate's approximately 4 hectares of Sangiovese vineyards are divided among three distinct zones at different altitudes and positions in Montalcino, including the esteemed Montosoli area, with many plots on terracing held up by age-old dry-stone walls, producing wines of exceptional elegance and harmony aged in large Slavonian oak casks.
