About the Winery

Máté is a Brunello di Montalcino estate in the Tavernelle zone, near Gaja's Pieve Santa Restituta property, founded by Canadian author Ferenc Máté and artist Candace Máté in the mid-1990s. The estate's seven hectares of organically farmed vineyards sit between 320 and 410 meters above sea level, producing concentrated, elegant Brunello that has earned 95 points from Wine Spectator and consistently high marks from major critics.
