About the Winery
La Piana Capraia is the only winery on the island of Capraia, located within the Tuscan Archipelago National Park, founded in 2000 by Alice and Eros Bollani with Giuseppe Gnaccarini on volcanic soils of ancient origin. The estate produces approximately 16,000 bottles annually of organic wines including Aleatico Passito, Vermentino, Ansonica, Ciliegiolo, Sangiovese, and the island's signature rosé from Aleatico, with vineyards on terraced land surrounded by Mediterranean scrub where inmates of the former penal colony once worked the land.
