About the Winery
La Fornace is a small family-run Brunello di Montalcino estate whose origins are intertwined with the history of peasant farming, situated at 400 meters elevation in the heart of Montalcino on northeast-exposed grounds with sandy-geologic soils. Named after an old furnace built in 1490, the estate produces Brunello di Montalcino DOCG, Rosso di Montalcino DOC, and Brunello Riserva in the best vintages, along with IGP extra virgin olive oil and Brunello grappa distilled from pomace, crafting wines described as particularly delicate and elegant.
